Q: anti virus for macbook pro

i just recently purcahsed the macbook pro and wanted to know if i need to buy anti virus protection. ive had some people tell me that i do need it and some people tell me that i dont. my macbook will be mainly used for business and to pay bills. thank you.

Not needed.

On Mac, AV software is known to only cause problem and do no good.

No you don't need it. I certainly would not buy any anti virus these seem to cause more problems then solving.

I do run antivirus just to be proactive and trying to stay ahead of the curve.

The only antivirus I would recommend for the Mac is ClamXav.
