iPhoto/Mountain Lion/moving photos from Mail

Upgraded to Mountain Lion over the holidays.

Previously with Lion we were able to "save to Iphoto" from mail and the photos imported into Events and Photos on iPhoto.

Now we "save to iPhoto" in Mail and the photos do not appear anywhere in our Iphoto, even in the Web/phto stream folder.

we can only drag and drop the indiviual photos into iPhoto. (These are indivdual photos and not a series to be shared via Photo stream.)

we are running iPhoto 9.4.2. (710.4.2.).

Question is; how do we save from Mail to iPhoto using the function in Mail.
