From the begining. My mail for some reason is name mail(original) for an unknown reason after I went to time machine in mail couple years ago.
Last month aprox 15 dec my mail stop working. And, also my face book, can not do nothing with it.
I attach a copie of the msg I received when I try to open mail.

Restore its original name, which is Mail.app, and then rerun the 10.6.8 combo updater. If there's an incomplete application with that name, throw it away.

I try to do it like any file but no luck. this is what I have for mail.
Delete the Mail.app item, open the Script Editor, and run:
do shell script "mv '/Applications/Mail (original).app/' '/Applications/Mail.app/'" with administrator privileges

I am having this same issue. How can I rename the application when I can't get the application to open? Everytime I try and open it, the same error message listed above comes up. Is it possible to access this from a different area? Thanks in advance for any and all help.
