Anyone having problems with ActiveSync on Verizon with an Exchange server?

Brand new iPhone 5 restored from iCloud- iPhone 4.

After recognizing the issue of not getting push email - I deleted the exchange account and re added it. But problem continues of not getting email until info into the inbox and a manual sync occurs.

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.2
