can I connect an imac ppc to a imac intel?

I just bought an imac 2011 intel and I want to connect to my imac 2005. Can this be done?

This can be done via gigabit ethernet, the fastest option, or Firewire 800/400 (9 pin/6 pin) cable the simplest to setup option. For ethernet, use file sharing as described here:

For Firewire see this article, and I recommend setting up the PowerPC machine as the Target machine (holding the T key down):

You should be aware that many applications on Intel Macs no longer are supported, and many of the old document formats aren't either. Prepare your documents for Intel native equivalent applications before moving over to the Intel Mac. Appleworks is a classic point and case. Here are other important notes in such a transition:
