I have got my documents into pages but was hoping instead of scrolling from page to page I could somehow change a setting or preference to be able to flip pages like in iBook. Hope someone else has had this concern or request so that I can make this work.

You can Show Thumbnails (View menu) and click on the page you want or, after you have clicked on a thumbnail to select it, use the down (and up) arrows to move to the next (or previous) page. It will be a direct cut, no effects.
If you click in a page for any reason, you will have to select the thumbnails again to resume changing pages.

If you hold your finger down on the right hand edge of the iPad you get the page magnifier and can slide down to the page you want.

Thanks, Peter for catching that. I mised that he was using an iPad. My eyes are getting too old for what Apple considers legible print.
