Can I Home Share my Macbook OS X 10.8.6 on my new Apple TV 3?

I have followed all of the support steps and my Macbook is still not listed in the "Computers" on the Apple TV 3 menu.

AppleTV 2, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Did you follow the troubleshooting as well?
