Behringer UCG102 not recognised

Can anyone throw some light on this one.

I recently installed the new 'Mountain Lion' operating system on my iMac.

So far I just cannot get my Behringer UCG102 guitar interface to work on te computer. I have been to Finder Utilities menu and added an aggregated device, but the iMac treats it as an Offline device and I cannot change the sample rate which is set at 0.0Hz

UCG102 did not come with an installation CD: it is supposed to be plug and play - nor can I find any downloadable software to install it.

Has anyone in the community experienced this? What do you recomend?

This knotty issue is standing between me and being able to jam and record stuff with my guitar - if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.
