I have a mac os x 10.8.2 and I want to run an external hard drive installed ubuntu in a format of ext4. Is there any way to do that?

To read ext4 on OS X, you need a third-party program like ExtFS for OS X. Unfortunately, OS X can't read or write on ext partitions
