Empty folder in Music

All the music I want to use is in ~Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple but none of it appears in the Music and Sound Browser. I have tried dragging it in, but there is no response (nothing highlights, nothing happens). However I do have iLife Sound Effects (which are in the same folder), but Apple Loops for Soundtrack Pro, Apple Loops for Garage Band, and Associated Production Music, also in the same folder on the same hard disk, do not appear. .

In FCP 7 I used to be able to re-index the Music and FX. Is there some Preferences setting I need to trash or some switch to make the Browser Drag & Drop work?
