My daughter has for got her passcode, the ipod touch is now disabled and says " connect to itunes" . When I connect to the latest version of itunes \i get an error message stating that the device is passcode protected. Ugh!! How do I do a complete restore if itunes wont connect to the ipod.
iPod touch
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
