Q: Stream iTunes to Airport Express over LAN?

My current setup:

* A super-fast WiFi router provided by my ISP.

* An old Mac Mini with a broken WiFi card that is connected to the router by Ethernet cable.

* A bunch of iPads and iPods around that house that connect to the router via WiFi.

I want to stream iTunes audio from the Mac Mini over Ethernet to my stereo on the other side of the room, which is right next to the router.

My question: Can I use an old Airport Express to do this? That is, connect the Express via WiFi or Ethernet to the router and have it pick up iTunes off the Mac Mini?

Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Yes. Please check out this Apple Support article for details on how to configure an AirPort Express for iTunes streaming. In your situation, iTunes will be streamed from the Mac mini via its Ethernet connection to the ISP-provided Wi-Fi router, and in turn, streamed from this router to the AirPort Express.
