OSX App Store Problems

I get an error message while trying to open the App Store on my Computer, this occurred after attempting to download the new OSX Lion, I am currently using Mountain Lion., because the download of Lion did not work. Error message reads " App Store can not be opened because of a problem, check with developer to make sure App Store works with this version of Mac OSX". How do I uninstall and reinstall the App Store?
