iOS devices can only print directly to AirPrint printers. All AirPrint printers are wireless but not all wireless printers are capable of using AirPrint. No Kodak printer is capable of using AirPrint but there may be Kodak apps you can use.
To print directly from an iPad / iPhone you will need an AirPrint compatible printer or another device to act as a print server. That can be a Mac computer running Printopia ($19.95 with free trial) or handyPrint (donation - supported). The Mac must be "on" but may be asleep for them to work. Equivalent PC options may exist but you're on your own finding them.
You can also buy this standalone print server:

These options enable you to use any printer available to your network, even older ones that may predate AirPrint by decades.
Otherwise you will need to buy an AirPrint printer or multifunction device.
Is your Kodak printer a wifi printer? if so, you have several options.
Kodak has enabled printing via google documents. I'm a bit shaky on the details because I had no need for another online account so wasn't going to use it. but if your printer isn't wifi, you can use google docs to upload your document from your ipad, to a computer hardwired to the printer, and it'll print from there. As I understand it you can also mail your document from your ipad to your printer. So I'd look on Kodak's site and see what they offer for your specific model.
Failing that, third party apps work just fine. No need to buy another printer. I have a kodak 7250 and use Print n Share to print from my iPad to my printer. Not the fastest in the world but it does work. (And I have no experience iwth air print to know if that service is any faster)
