Editing footage from a Sony hdr fx7 camera and a GoPro Hero 3 in the same sequence

What capture settings and sequence settings and export settings should I use when editing with footage from the Sony HDR FX7 and the GoPro Hero 3 silver edition in final cut Pro 7?

Currently I have my sequence settings matching that of the Sony HDR Fx7, which is 1440x1080i, but when I put my GoPro footage in the seqence it tells me I have over an hour to render one single 2 sec clip.

What should I do?
