Will downloading snow leopard software clear my memory?

I am about to download to Snow Leopard 10.6.3 on my macbook but I am afraid that it will clear my memory.

MacBook (13-inch Mid 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.3)

If you are referring to your data on the internal HDD, No.

While the upgrade should not do anything to your data, it is always highly recommended to backup prior to any major operations such as an update or upgrade.

It is always far better to have a backup and not need it then to need a backup and not have it.
