Airplay Mirroring / Apple TV

AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer).

if your display preferences don't have a mirroring option, then your set up doesn't support it.

I am having the same issues, with my MBP (late 2011), iPad 2 and iPhone 4s. All of these devices worked before iOS6 and streamed well to my Apple TV.

On my Mac, I can select AirPlay, and sometimes my desktop comes up 2-3 minutes and is several webpages behind my current place. Other times, my laptop goes all blue. . . my Apple TV goes black, then nothing happens.

Then, I tried my iPad2. It takes forever to buffer, but sometimes the sound works, but not the picture, vice versa. Music works, but the album artwork doesn't come through.

The Apple TV itself works fine with my TV. I can rent movies, watch Hulu, etc.

All in all, it's sluggish and inconsisent. I thought maybe it was an issue with my router, but when I run speed tests, everything comes back in good shape.

Have you checked istumbler for interference?

I just downloaded the program and ran it for a few minutes. My network was 65%, with 18% noise, and was marked green. I take that as a good sign? The only thing that has changed since it was last working were software updates - iOS6 on the devices, the OS X 10.8.2 (12C60) upgrade on my MacBook, and the Apple TV updates.

Sounds fine. Any other network activity occurring ?

I don't have access to Mac mirroring but tested ipad and iPhone, both mirrored with no lag.

I wouldn't take too much notice of the signal strength and noise while looking for conflicting networks, you are looking for other networks that overlap yours, or worse still use the same channel.

Take a look - my network is called "GiddyUp" - I'm not sure how to interpret it.

I tested it again tonight and it took well over 60 seconds to register screen changes on my MacBook to my TV.

Gee, I don't think I could suggest a better channel, but note there are 9 other users overlapping your channel. You might want to consider 5 Ghz or better still Ethernet.

On a second look you already seem to be using dual channels, I can't see the rest of the list so it's hard to say but your 2.4 Ghz channel doesn't seem to be all that hopeful, have you tried 5 GHz only (if that's an option)
