my iphone 4s wifi is greyed out - how do we fix this?

How can there be anything wrong with my phone? it's been protected in a otterbox since day 1! it worked fine, and then all the sudden it just is grayed out. I've taken every step Apple is providing to correct the problem with no luck! Please comment if you have this problem or you know the resolution. Tech support wants to sell me a new phone, my warranty expired 15 days ago (how convienent). PLEASE HELP!!!! When does 6.0.2 come out????
