    This worked great, except I did not know what the home button was. I pushed the sleep button and the button to get the home screen and that worked right away. Many, many thanks.

    My wife's iPad 2 has this problem since we upgraded to v9. Coincidence?

    Every time we power it on, it would freeze after you try to slide with your finger.  If you wait until screen goes blank and then push the Home button, you could slide and put in your passcode.

    This problem occurs only after you turn on the iPad with the power/wake button. Being a retired MS-DOS computer guy, I tried different things.

    The solution for my wife was, to disable the passcode feature in setup. I never have this problem now. Security is not an issue for what she does.

    I Am not going to try to install a older OS to see, if IOS 9 is the reason
