Scratched glass on new iPad?

So I was using my new iPad to watch a video. When I looked at the boarder under the light, I can see a scratch running from the edge, to about a half inch towards the screen. I thought Apple was known for its quality of production. Would I be nuts if I took it back to exchange it for a different one? I mean, buying an iPad is no "chump change".
