I have Windows 8, and my ipod doesn't do anything when plugged in. It doesn't even show it's charging. What can I do?

I installed iTunes, installed the drivers for the shuffle, and synced once. Now, It doesn't charge. It doesn't make any noise when I plug the ipod into the usb and doesn't show anything in iTunes.
