iPod touch, iOS 5.1.1
This happened to me when updating to 5.1.1. You have to resign into home sharing on your iPod. Go to Settings > Music and scroll down to log in with your Apple ID (You can also do this through Settings > Video). Then you can go to Music > More and see the Shared option.
