Can someone help me please. my mac's being weird. Am i hacked or infected

Hi everyone,

I've recently updated to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and I've been experiencing some weird stuff on my mac. I am not sure whether this is the culprit but there's this weird flickering and sometimes the cursor just jumps. I reset the PRAM already and still the same. It's been occuring when I'm typing and sometimes while surfing the net. when clicking the ? on my keyboard. when i press shift + ? it sometimes just acts like return and adds a new line or when in chrome it says insert query and opens a new blank tab. I've also added a video of what it does when i email. Hope it helps to figure out what's wrong. I'm hoping someone can tell me what to do.

Amazing how often Chrome comes into matters like this. Unless you absolutely need it, I would suggest you delete it and use Safari or Firefox.

Use the free app Easy find or App Cleaner to completely remove chrome and all the extentions you may have downloaded (the extentions are a main source of problems).

Once all is back to normal you can always try Chrome again ... but as I mentioned, be very wary of the extentions.

Hi seventy one, thanks for the response. I already tried that and it didnt really solve anything for me. It happens quite alot even when chrome isnt on so I dunno why it happens. I'm thinking its a malware or aomething but I scanned and didnt find anything that would contribute to the errors. Thanks for the help!

What exactly have you already tried?

The question is not whether Chrome is on or off; once it is in the system it could be encroaching. I write from a personal bad experience with Chrome, the extentions and a potential encounter with the dreaded MacKeeper. And if you want to talk about malware ... that is number 1 in many people's view.

I've removed chrome but i reinstalled it again. The last thing I remembered installing was the google talk drivers and that was i think thestart of all the errors. I'll remove chrome again using the apps that you gave me and see what happens

Hopefully one of them will solve your problem. The important thing is to ensure Chrome is completely removed.
