Hi, I have recently changed some of the settings in my mac since I got it from my brother and I didn't want it to be with his info. Somehow the idisk is giving me an error 5016 and I haven't been able to do anything with time machine either because it does not see the disk.
Skype also had an update yesterday and i don't know if this has something to do with the idisk issue.

iDisk is a MobileMe service, and MobileMe was discontinued, so open System Preferences > MobileMe and log out MobileMe because it doesn't work anymore

Hi mende, thank you. Now what i see is that the time machine doesn't work because it doesn't see any disk. I did touch something there but I can't reverse whatever i did and its not backing up. Could it be because I'm outside the US? Thanx again :)
Have you tried to open System Preferences > Time Machine > Select Disk, and select your Time Machine disk?
Yes. :( when I try to turn on time machine, another window pops up like it wants me to select a disk and the "use for back up" button is grey and nothing appears there. I got in the system profiler to check whether all the hardware components appear there and under the ATA option it says "this system does not contain any AtA devices installed..." I a new with mac and I really don't know how to solve things in this platform :( i used to be good at solvng things in lousy windows. The system obviously has an internal disk
On Select Disk window, do you see any disk to choose?
Note that you need an external disk for Time Machine so, if you haven't got one, nothing appears
Oh, that's interesting... I didn't know the back up was on an external drive. :) thanx for the info. I was scared :P
Or a network location. If iDisk was used to back up, it's not possible to use it because iDisk was discontinued
