unwanted email notifications from apple support community (no disrespect)

I asked a question on this forum once, which someone kindly helped with, but now I'm plagued with notifications about everyone else's problems. I set my email preferences on here to no to everything but my inbox continues to be bombarded. Please help. Thanks kindly.

Have you tried "signing out" of the support community??

Thanks for your swift reply. I always log out when leaving the community, although you may mean something else, but I notice that under 'actions' on right of my page there are some options which I planned on trying as there are checks on email notifications and re:email notifications which may be where the problem lies. I assume these are default settings as via my account I have marked all options as no to ensure I get no emails!! this hasnt worked!!!

I havent yet tried these options as I didnt want to miss any replies to my recent question, naturally.

Thanks again for the reply

To stop discussion board email notifications, see this article - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3661.

If you remember the thread (or can find it from the email) you should be able to unsubscribe from just that thread by deselecting the Receive Email Notifications in the Actions box at the top right hand side of the thread

User uploaded file

There are at least 4 levels of notification here.

1) You can be notified for every post added to a thread you create.

2) You can be notified for every thread you participant in (added a post to)

3) You can be notified for all posts to a specific thread (even if you didn't post to that thread)

4) You can be notified for all posts to a specific community (this is the killer, easily hundreds of emails per day depending on the community.)

Thank you kindly for all this information, I have done everything as suggested in the article and I am still receiving notification emails to what seem to be all live threads, to which I have had no link or involvement. I would only EVER want to receive notification of my own discussion threads. As it happened, because my inbox is so full of Apple Support Notifications, I completely missed your post!!

I'm really sorry that sounded as if it was aimed at you, which it wasn't, it's just so frustrating - especially when I find that I didn't notice a post relevant to me in amongst all the support emails!!!

To my kowledge I'm not linked to a specific community, although I have attempted to find out for sure - I'm not convinced I have!

As I have never posted to another subject thread, I am out of reasons why I should be getting any posts at a;;p!

I have set all of my email preferences to 'no' which should stop everything, but it seems to have no impact at all. I left it several days to see if it took time to kick in, but nothing is working for me and I am almost getting to the point that I want to block ASC notifications, but that is counterproductive for me.

I wonder if you can think of anything else I could do except get in touch with Apple?

Kindest regards

Caroline

I revisited my profile and looked at what notifications were listed, which was those I had posted, I believe that all notifications with a loose connection to these threads may have been being filtered, so I have deleted these. I hope this has solved the problem, I'll keep you posted!

Kindest regards
