My MacBook air shows 56 Gig's of "Other" on my hard drive...what is it and how to remove?, My MacBook air shows 56 Gig's of "Other" on my hard drive...what is it and how to remove?

I have 128 capacity and can no longer download largeer files (i.e. movies) because disk is almost full. Storage space shows 56 gigs of "other" taking up space. I don't understand the disk utility. How can I figure out what this "other" stuff is and how to delete?

Other Stuff is everything that's not movies, music etc. It includes your personal data as well as the operating system and the files it needs. There are a lot of disk cataloging programs including DaisyDisk, WhatSize, and Omni Disk Sweeper. The latter is free the other two are shareware. Get one, run it, and see what's taking up space and what you are willing to delete or move to another drive.
