I'm having problems with the ramp behaviour - crop won't work but roundness will

I'm attempting to roughly replicate the ramp crop behaviour as seen in the skyline example that comes with Motion 5 - but with no success!


I can copy a rectangle with the ramp behaviour crop effect attached and paste into a new file but if I try and apply the behaviour to a rectangle I have made crop won't work but rounding will!


I know I must be missing something pretty obvious - confused and please help.

Make sure you activated the crop for the rectangle you pasted the behavior onto. Go to the inspector, properties for your rectangle and make sure crop is active. It should have the blue highlight.
