iMac & iPod Touch 4G won't sync music or podcasts

I am running Mac OS X 10.8.2 and iTunes 11.0.1 on my iMac. I am running iOS 6.0.1 on my iPod Touch 4G.

I have iTunes set to sync Apps, Music, Podcasts, and Photos with my iPod Touch. I have the exact same settings for Podcasts on my iPod. When I attempt to sync from iTunes, the Apps and Photos sync but not the Music and Podcasts.I have plenty of available capacity (36.2 GB) on my iPod Touch 4G. Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Bookmarks, Apps, and Photos sync normally.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how to force iTunes to sync Music and Poscasts.
