Help, Airplay will not work

So I confirmed using my serial number per instructions above that I have a MacBook Pro early 2011, so it should be compatible with Airplay but I can only play audi via iTunes, the airplay icon down not appear in my menu bar.. What am I doing wrong?

AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer).
