Pre-Intel OS X 10.4 update needed for iTunes sync

Can I update my pre-Intel PowerBook G4 running OS X 10.4.11 so that I can use a modern version of iTunes to sync old files? I'm using an iPad 4 now but don't want to lose old files (not all from iTunes). Mt. Lion requires Intel processors and not what else to try or if I'm stuck.

Hi, the highest you can go is 10.5.8 ore-Intel, & I don't think that'll help with your iPad.

Leopard requirements/10.5.x...

* Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor

minimum system requirements

* 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)

* DVD drive for installation

* 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)

Classic/OS9 Apps no longer supported.

Trouble is Apple no longer sells it, check eBay & such for the Retail version, not the Gray Discs...
