My "Date & time" info in the top right menubar does not "run": it only updates to the current time when I click it.
I have it set as digital showing seconds but it just doesn't run, it's stuck on the last date/time I updated by clicking it.
I never had this before
I use MacPro with Mac OS Lion 10.7.5
Any reason?

@straycatcn, you're not the only one, no. I just starting having the same problem recently, and I'm not yet certain how to fix it. There are no errors that I can find in the console logs, and a reboot doesn't seem to fix the issue. Have you come up with a cause and/or solution?
I think its just a problem with istat menus - I updated and this was fixed for me.

I solved the problem. Should have thought of it earlier:
1. Repair permissions,
2. Restart
Now time and date are running properly
