Broken iPod touch

I have a second generation iPod touch that I bought a long time ago. It stopped working for no reason. It was NOT Jailbroken. When I try to turn it on, it shows the Apple, then it just goes into recovery mode. If you don't know what recovery mode is, it is where it shows the iTunes 10 logo and the USB cable. I tried EVERYTHING!!! I tried a normal iTunes restore many times. I tried a custom ROM. I even tried to Jailbreak it. Any ideas?

By the way, it stopped working BEFORE this happened.
