Image capture does not find USB scanner

Dell V313 printer/scanner/copier (all-in-one) attached to my mac via USB works for printing but I cannot use the scanner function. Image Capture and Preview both say that no scanner is attached. I have already installed the driver for the Dell V313 (it uses the Lexmark printer drivers). I have also tried the Scan to computer button on the printer/scanner itself and had no luck. The System Report (via "About this Mac") shows that the printer is attached to the USB Hub. I have been able to scan to a flash (thumb) drive plugged into the printer itself, so I know that the scanning function works. I just can't get my Mac to find the scanner using Image Capture or Preview. I'm running the latest version of Mountain Lion and have the latest printer driver

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Hi,

Make sure you installed the Image Capture scan drivers below and check if that may helpm this is a seperate installer than the print drivers installer:

Excellent! Thank you. How did you track down that particular driver in the dell support site? I searched but I guess I did not use the correct search terms. Anyway, it works with Image Capture and with Preview, so I'm set. It doesn't work with Photoshop CS6 but as long as I can get something with Image Capture or Preview, I can then read the scanned file into Photoshop and process from there.

Using Apple Mac pro along with Photoshop 12 and HP 8500 all-in-one printer. Where do I find the get from scanner listing under file to retrieve a scanned photo as I do using Photoshop 10 where the scanner is listed when I click on File????
