iTunes does not show iPhone

Hi,

I've plugged my iPhone (4s) into my XP machine to backit up. I need to "Right-click (or Control-click) the device and select Back Up". However, I can't find the device. I only see the albums I uploaded to my iPhone in the past.

Since I updated both iTunes and IOS my iPhone desappeard in iTunes. How do I get it back?

TIA,

Macamba

I de-installed iTunes, rebooted, and installed it again. Had to use the local iTunesSetup.exe as I could not download it from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/. Anyway, after plugging in my iPhone I had to agree with the user agreement. Next I got a message window stating:

"The file "iTunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes".

Sigh. For my next trick I will try to download iTunesSetup.exe using Internet Exploder.
