I have tried to remove the Apple file but ShellStreams64.dll is being used by explorer.exe. Obviously if i stop explorer I'm unable to acces the files. Is there a war round this?

I was having trouble with this myself, but I figured it out.

  1. Click the start button and search for "cmd". Right click on it and "Run as administrator".
  2. A DOS black screen will pop up, type "cd\" at the command prompt and press enter.
  3. Open up "start task manager"
  4. Click on the "processes" tab, and search for "explorer.exe". Right click on it and choose "end process". You should see your windows disappear.
  5. Then type the filepath name of the file that you want to delete, for me it was "cd\ program files\common files\apple\internet services" at the command prompt in the DOS window. Press enter.
  6. Then type "del shellstreams64.dll", the file should be deleted by now.
  7. Restart "explorer.exe" by using the start task manager. Click on File and then "New Task (Run)". Type in "explorer.exe" in the box and click OK.

Hope this helps you out.

For anyone still having trouble with this I found a wonderful simple program that takes care of everything without having to go through any of these hassles & can't believe I didn't think to try it before! It's called Bye Tunes & works so beautifully it's hard to believe. It's from Singular Labs under their extensive list of uninstallers.

Try it & hope this info helps even one person it's so frustratring otherwise.
