can't remember account password

Created an account password and then shutdown computer on opening computer kept punching in the 'right' password but to no avail...it kept me out! and i actually dont know the so called master password...What do i do? Pse help.


My comp specifications are: CA 95014 Model A1002 EMC 1955, 200 - 240 VAC. 3.5A, 50 - 66HZ. Assembled in Czech Republic Apple Computer Inc.

Hi,


Master Password is the term generally used for a Filevault account, without which that account is likely lost.


Then there's a possibility of a Firmware Password, if that is it you'll see a lock when holding alt key at bootup.


Third is a Login Password, if that is the problem, try this...

Starts up like the first time you buy a new Mac, but after filling in all that info again, you should have access to the computer and the other Users & files will still be there... give the new User a different name than an existing one.
