iphone 4S is not syncing with itunes 11

I am attempting to sync my iphone with itunes 11 however, it is not picking up my device I recieve error OxE8000065. I do not even see the device as being connected when I connect it via usb cable. I am reading through the help sections for itunes 11 and the advice it is giving I don't even see the items it is refering to. When it is suppose to be syncing I don't even see the sync icon show up on my phone. I have not synced my device since October 21, 2012 via iTunes Wi-Fi Sync and the 1st time that I have attempted to sync via itunes 11.
