how do i unlock an iPhone 4?

I bought an iPhone for off an asquaitance to fix and sell on.

Ive now come round to testing the phone before attempting to sell it and Ive had issues with it not connecting to the network.

It is currently loccked to Vodafone, so I used a Vodafone sim card and it didnt get signal even when i changed geographical position.

it did however get mobile internet signal so that has really confused me!

If you have any suggestions of how to get around this problem that would be great!

Sounds like you have a hacked phone.

I replaced the screen and back as they were broken. ive done it plenty times before and its been fine so im pretty sure thats not the issue

You may have a damaged cellular antenna in the frame or you have a damaged logic board.

it wont need unlocking if its a voda sim in the voda phone

its only if your trying to put orange tmobile or o2 in

silly question is it def locked to vodaphone ?

Both of those are possibilities, would it be worth be taking pictures of the mother board and for you to see if it has?

Because I don't know really what I'm looking at

Try reading the description again cus I think you misunderstood.

It's not the sim I have an issue with its the actual hardware or software of the phone itself

No, there would be not certain way to see if it was damaged. You will need to replace them to diagnose the issue.

I'm guessing that would involve a bit of soldering on the mother board?

I see now , with the mobile Internet signal

These things are so delicate when taken apart

I messed up the flash on mine when I took it to bits
