Mac keeps restarting due to problem after installing Mountain Lion

Question

I recently had my MBP replaced with a coverage plan, and my old machine was running on Lion. I had never upgraded to Mountain Lion because I didn&#x27;t want to pay for it, but getting a replacement machine the upgrade would be free. After restaring my machine with time machine I went ahead and updated to Mountain Lion 10.8.2. upon downloading my MBP keeps restarting because of an error after I downloaded Mountain Lion. I have since restored to my old settings with time machine and essentially refuse to update until I know what is wrong.
