I have a video that will not play. The error message says that a required codec isnt available. To see if additional sotware is available that will enable quicktime player to open movie. Any ideas?

There are thousands of codec's out there, so it is hard to say what codec you need. What is the file extension of the video file?

Download VLC Player for Mac. This should play that video.

The codec that is embeded into that video, is not compatible with Quicktime. As it is a .avi file, VLC player should work for you.
