RAM for Macbook Pro mid 2012

Many in the forum trust crucial.com and macsales.com as selling RAM that is reliable and compatible with Mac. Crucial is slightly less expensive sometimes than macsales, but *not* by a factor of 2.

We don't have enough information about it and it could not work. I recommend you to buy it in OWC, so you must be sure that the RAM will work with your computer

You can use it, but it's not the best for your Mac. Your Mac supports DDR3 1600 MHz RAM, so you can use those 1333 MHz modules, but they will be slower than the 1600 MHz modules

The correct RAM specifications for a 2012 MBP are: 204-pin PC3-12800 (1600 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM. This is what Apple recommends and any deviation from this leaves you open to risk. Get the right RAM from the start and you will not have to take any possible corrective action later.

It's difficult to find 16 GB of memory for $80 (near impossible), and that memory doesn't look as compatible for a MacBook Pro

Last I checked for my 2011 MBP, for 16 GB OWC wanted $107 and crucial offered compatible RAM for $84. If I did not trust the Crucial, the additional $20 is irelevant considering the circumstances.
