I have a iMac with with mountain lion, and of course iDVD is not included, it took me approximately a week to figure that out after trying make a DVD of my photo slideshow. My question is can I install iLife '11, on a Mac that is running mountain lion?

I thought I've read - that one might need to set back Date on the Mac (about two Years) to make this install work.
But I've not tested - so only a thought.

I contacted the Apple support team and eventually, I was told that the Licence had been withdrawn and could no longer be used.”
In other words Apple are now so adamant that we don’t use iDVD that they have tried to make it impossible to install.
In response, Old Toad posted this solution:
“You can still use it one all of your Macs. If you get an invalid certificate message just set your Mac's clock to sometime before early 2011 and run the installer. After you're done reset the time back to the correct time.” He added this comment:
“It began after iDVD and iWeb were discontued and they were dropped from the Apple Store. All I can think of is the certificate was set to expire after a certain time period after the intitial iLife disc was released.
I've been able to use the installer even without setting back the date. I just clicked on the Continue button and it would work as expected. For some it would not continue unless the date was set back.”
By installing iLife '11 is it going to cause a major problem with my warranty I still have a year or two left on my iMac?

I ordered the box version from Amazon, It arrives this coming Monday the 7th Will I be able to install only the programs that I don't already have?
Yes. You will see a box you can tick for selecting only only one of the applications for install.

The apps that you already have, iPhoto ,etc, will be grayed out in the Custom install window.

The iLife i ordered arrived yesterday, and i installed it on my mac (with mountain lion), iDVD works great but now iPhoto will not open, i get a message that says "You can’t open the application “iPhoto” because it may be damaged or incomplete." What do i do Now?
Did you install iPhoto from the iLife 11 disk also? You can move the iPhoto application out of the Applications folder, go to the App Store, log in with your Apple ID and click on Purchases. There download and install iPhoto.

Thanks for the excellent help re installing iDVD & iWeb. I wasted time downloading and installing Pacifist - I needn't have bothered! However, when I used Pacifist, iWeb opened, but not iDVD. I got a whole page of complaints as to why it would not open. This was before I found the tip about resetting my clock, which I've now done. IDVD opened perfectly after setting my clock to 01.01.11. I just hope that when I reset my clock back to 2013, iDVD won't complain!
