How to make iMessages work again

I sent a really long message to my friend on messages now it is not working. When i try to tap on a conversation nothing happens. How do I make it work again ???

iPad, iOS 6.0.2, iPad mini

what did you do? the same thing happened to me but i cant even see the names of the people ive been texting. did your's crash when you tried to open it?

Somone on UR messages has to text you and when it shows on the top of UR screen quickly tap it and the delete the conversation that crashed your messages without going on the conversation.
