copy documents from usb drive to replace

I am new to the Mac world. I have some older documents that are now on the Mac, I need to replace them with updated ones I have on a USB drive. What is the easiest way to do this? Some files are probably same date, others are newer.

Thanks

Delete the old ones by dragging them into your Trash Can, then drag the new ones from your USB Drive onto your Mac desktop or Documents folder.
