Hi

Can You try to

• Close iMovie

• go up to Apple Menu

• down to System Preferences / Accounts

• Create a new User Account

• to Apple menu / down to bottom / Log out

• and into the new User You've made

Now try iMovie and if it Imports OK

This will override any bad iMovie pref or cache files (are made new and error free)

Else

• Free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) Hard Disk (often named "Macintosh HD") - How Much is there ?
