Syncing my iPhone Calendar to my iMac iCal; not happening...help!

I have an iPhone 4S with 6.0.1 and an iMac with 10.6.8 and cannot ever sync my Calendar to my iCal; not by cord nor wifi. I have the iPhone set to sync via iCloud, but I cannot find any such setting for the iMac. I never had this issue with my 3Gs, which synced up just fine with the wire plugin. I'm frustrated as ****, as I have to keep adding each new event manually into each device's calendar.

I do not want to start up a Mobile Me account, particularly as I think that probably won't work either.

Anybody have any ideas?
