Yesterday a mountain lion update chrashed om me and now I can´t start my mac mini.
I´ve now reinstalled Mountain Lion from rescue mode but after that the mac just keeps rebooting.
I´ve tried safe mode too but it won´t start anyway.
Idéas?

I forgot to mention that when I run disk utility it says that the disk i OK?!

First try > Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Unplug the computer's power cord.
3. Wait fifteen seconds.
4. Attach the computer's power cord.
5. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
and the > About NVRAM and PRAM
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
6. Release the keys.
Then if it is still acting funny, you might have a loose RAM module and need to reinstall the modules as per > Mac mini: How to remove or install memory
What backups do you have?
Unfortunately no real timemachine backup with I have on all the other mac´s I own.
I´ve managed to put the mini into Target Mode and are as we speak copying crucial files from the mini to my macbook.

I´ve tried both your suggenstions but it still just reboots over and over again.
Any other ideas?
Do you think the issue will disappear if i wipe the disk clean and reinstall everything from the top?
If you can't boot in Recovery mode, the boot drive has failed, or you have some other hardware fault. Now that you've rescued your data, you can take the machine to a service facility for testing.
The thing is that I can put it in recovery mode.
Do you thing a clean install will solve this or do you believe it´s a hardware problem?
When I try to start it in safe mode it reacts the same way unfortunately.
If you can boot into Recovery, then it's possible that a clean reinstallation will fix it, but the hardware will still be suspect. There's no reason for you to have this problem if the hardware is in working order.
