I am unable to use Safari because there is an advert/virus the-lucky-winner box and unless I click on a tab that enters me in a draw for an iPhone? Appreciate any possible solution. I have only recently updated to Moutain Lion.s

Go to the Safari menu, then Preferences, and make sure that your home page is set to a site you trust or use regularly. Then close (using the X at the top left of the tab or window) any "advert" windows in Safari. Open a new window, and it should open to your home page.

Hold down the shift key as you launch Safari.
Quit Safari (by force if necessary.) Relaunch it by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. That will stop the page from reloading automatically. Select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove all website data
to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server. Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize.
