Apologize for the late response to this string. After some trial and error and testing at the computer repair shop it was determined my DVD drive was in fact the culprit. Sometimes it worked fine, other times not so well.
Apple replaced the drive and once it was replaced my Logic Studio loaded like a champ. However, I should add a caveat to this... When I attempted to load the first time and failed I removed, or thought I did, all traces of the install. But, when I started to load after the DVD was replaced I came across an issue that prevented me from selecting all the options on Logic Studio.
Long story short, there were remnants of the install attempt on my hard drive which lead the install application to believe that some of the Logic Studio programs were already installed; specifically SoundTrack Pro. I looked everywhere for remnants but found nothing. I eventually got Tech Support on the line and of course they ran me through the search process too and of course we found nothing.
The Tech had to walk me through entering several lines of code in the Terminal Command Utility to clear the previous install attempt.
Bottom line, got it done, got the program installed, life is grand... now all I need to do is learn how to use Logic Studio.
