I have a 27 inch iMac Mid 2011 What is the Max Ram I can Have in each slot?

What kind where to buy etc?

I believe you can load up to 16GB (4 X 4GB) but depending on your location, you can check this with OWC (North America) or Crucial.com (Europe). They have system scanners which will identify your exact needs; just tell them you want to max it.

Officially 4 Gigabytes (16G total) but OWC have tested with and sell 8 Gigabyte chips for a maximum of 32G total.

Greetings Csound1,

Just a question concerning both our answers. I have noticed that Crucial.com tend to be much more reticent than OWC when it comes to maxing out memory.

Both are acknowledged here as very reliable and recognised for the strict testing so which way would you jump if you encountered their opposing viewpoints.
